More Christmas Pictures

Gwen was the star at Christmas. She grew up so much in that week we were in Soda Springs. She started speaking a variety of new words, including "Gaw-gie" (doggie), and "two!" We're not sure where she learned the word two, but she holds up two fingers and proudly says "two!" whenever she feels like it!

Gwen loved the snow. We took her outside to play and it was hard to convince her to come back inside. The rest of us were cold, but she acted like she could sit in the snow and help her daddy build a snowman for hours.

On Christmas morning, Gwen was very excited to rip open her presents and play with each toy as soon as she opened it. She got a princess tent, Veggie Tale movies, Little People car, xylophone, a new dolly (which she just loves), a V-tech tv game, basketball hoop, Phoenix Suns sweat suit, and many more toys. Santa was very good to her.

Play Time!

Gwen just keeps me laughing. My day is never dull.

New Camera

So we bought a new camera, and I'm still getting used to taking pictures with it. I'm just going to upload a couple pictures I took just to see how they look.

We Broke It

Christmas is only 9 days away, and our camera broke. I'm still not exactly sure how it happened. It can't even be blamed on one person; it was a family effort, really. Gwen was in her new Christmas dress that my mother bought her, and I made Logan take a picture of Gwen in my arms. He showed me the picture he just took, then he handed me the camera, and I think Gwen swatted at it, and down in fell, to the rock-hard kitchen floor. The lense broke, it won't go back into the camera. The camera refuses to turn on because of it. I'm very sad, and I've been grieving the loss of my little digital camera since Sunday. Thankfully, the memory card is still intact, but I used to use that camera on a daily basis. Gwen is always doing something cute that needs a dozen pictures of. I'm trying to convince Logan that we should get another one before Christmas. I mean, come on... this is Gwen's first Christmas when she can tear open presents. I need pictures! My poor camera.

Last night, Logan and I wrapped all the presents. I'm very impressed with ourselves. Everything is ready to go for Christmas... well, except for the fact that I haven't done Christmas shopping for Logan. He hasn't gotten me anything yet, so I don't feel so bad. I still have no idea what to get him besides books. I should get him a crockpot. We don't have one, and it'll benefit me, too. :) Every man's dream: a crockpot.

Graduation!

Logan graduated! Last night's ceremonies were very long and kind of boring, but it was all worth it to see Logan accept his diploma cover (he doesn't actually get his official diploma for six weeks) and listen to President Uchtdorf's talk. I didn't get many pictures of last night because I have a crappy zoom on my camera, and there were many heads in the way of any decent shot anyway. Isn't my hubby cute?
Gwen stayed home with Emma-Leigh and Maci and played while we were at the ceremonies. Gwen loves her family. She can't get enough of her grandpa. He's the coolest person ever. Everytime he walks by, she grabs onto his legs and demands to be picked up. It's so fetching cute.
The entire family ate at Garcia's last night. I love the tampico stuffed chicken! So delicious. We need to eat there every week. The drive home was insane. It started to snow and it was tough to see. I was so tired, I wasn't stressed about it. I'm usually a wreck in the car, but last night, all I wanted to do was sleep. My legs hurt so badly from the intense walking around campus. It snowed so much today. Logan called me from work and told me to look outside. It was a complete blizzard out there. Pretty cool. I hate the snow though. I can't wait for it to melt.
I have only 9 weeks to go! And we don't even have a full name yet. We want the first name to be Phoebe, after Logan's great grandmother who passed away last year. We wanted the middle name to be Catherine. My mother's name is Catherine and the baby's due date is on my mother's birthday, Valentine's Day. But my mom just recently told me that she didn't like the flow of Phoebe Catherine. This made me laugh, because I didn't like the flow either, but I didn't know what else to do because I had already told her we were going to name the baby after her. So now we have permission to name her something else, I guess. Maybe we'll find a different variation of Catherine that flows more nicely with Phoebe. Well, those are just my thinkings. We'll see what happens.

On Saturday We'll Be Real People!

Gwen's been going to nursery for the last two weeks (possibly three?) and she's just as awesome as can be. The first time I dropped her off, she didn't even look back. She saw the bucket of toys and took off. I felt dumb just standing there, alone, waiting for my daughter to wave bye-bye to me, so I shuffled out of the room feeling weird. I have a daughter in nursery. And she's already a pro! Logan does spend the last hour with her there, since she's only 16 (almost 17!) months old and she hasn't quite mastered lesson or snack time yet. He says she's one of the nicest, most happy little kid there. When there's a screaming, crying kid, she stands in front of them, waves her arms, and babbles at him or her, until the kid stops crying in sheer confusion. She's picking up the other kids' habbits at snack time. She bangs on the table with her hands until the food is served. That annoyed me so much when I was in nursery, but now I have to smile and think, "my little girl is growing up and making friends!" During music time, she doesn't sit down, but she does weave in and out of the group, singing in Gwen Language and doing the hand motions. I wish I could trade places with Logan for a week, just to see her in action, but I think my five-year-olds may eat my husband in alive. I wanted to be released from my nursery postion after 2 years, but now I want back in! Maybe I'll make Logan sneak in a video camera.

I can't wait for Christmas. We've gotten most of our Christmas shopping done already, which is a record. Now the trick is actually mailing out the gifts to family. I write letters all the time, but they sit by the door, sealed and stamped, until I have to throw them away because the news has changed. It took a year to mail off our thank-you notes for our wedding. We'll see what happens. I don't think Gwen quite understands what's going on yet. We have put up the Christmas tree, which she thinks is just a convenient place where we hung up all her new, favorite toys. Our tree looks bare by the end of every day, since she just loves to yank off the decorations and hand them to me, thinking she's just a helpful, big girl.

I took Gwen out to play in the snow yesterday. It was her first time in the snow. She usually hates to walk on anything that's not the sidewalk. She's scared to walk through grass even. If she accidentally walks onto the lawn, she immediately gets down on her knees and reaches for me. So when I made her walk out in the snow, she did the same thing. Only, she didn't reach for me right away. She squatted there, picking up the snow and giggling nervously. I managed to get a few pictures, until I walked too close to her and she latched onto my legs. Maybe I don't get my baby out of the house enough?

Logan graduates this Friday! We'll finally be real people by the end of the week! I made Logan take me to Deseret Book so I could find him a graduation gift. He knew what he wanted, so he took me down the isle, pointed at what he wanted, and then made off to the back of the store. But he doesn't know if I got it or not, haha. I'm very excited for him to graduate. He's done with all of his classes, he's turned in his projects, and he only has one more assignment to complete before graduation. Soon he'll have actual days off. On his days off from work he still has school. He never really gets a break. Now he'll have time to help me with the dishes! :p

I have more pictures to post, but the memory stick doesn't fit into this laptop. I don't feel like getting onto Logan's computer, so I'll post them later.

Thanksgiving Break

We just got home from spending the week in Soda Springs for Thanksgiving. I love real food. Thanksgiving dinner was so delicious, I'm quite upset that I don't have leftovers. I guess I will just have to wait a month for Christmas.

So here are some pictures that I took on our break. Most of them are of Gwen, of course, but since this is a blog for the showing off of such a cutie, I don't think anyone will mind.

Gwen loved playing with Grandma's curtains. She hid behind them and ran through them, playing peek-a-boo. Gwen thought it was the greatest game ever; she giggled and giggled as she wiped her snot all over Grandma's pretty cutrains. At least she's cute.

Here's Gwen saying "Chee!" for the camera! Oh, and her hair is cut! I love it!

Gwen only took a few bites of her Thanksgiving meal before falling asleep. It was extremely funny to watch her try to stay awake to finish the roll she was munching on. You should check out the video.

Just a few minutes after the meal, and already the naps began.

Gwen loves her aunts and uncles!

I can't wait until Christmas. Tonight we're supposed to check out Wal Mart to see if there are any more Christmas trees left. It's the day of the Big Sale so I'm not holding my breath. I'm hoping it's not ridiculously busy by the time Logan gets off work. Last year, people lined up across the parking lot to get in when it opened. It would be nice to do Chistmas shopping for Gwen while we are out, too. I want to get her a new baby doll that's life-like. She loves her currtent little baby doll (though she's already lost its clothes) so a baby doll that resembles a real baby might help her to prepare for a real baby by the time February rolls around. I'm not sure what else I want to get her, but it's still going to be hard not to get her everything. I want her to have a lot of presents on Christmas, mainly because I want to see her little face light up while she's tearing up paper, but also so she's not trying to open up everyone else's gifts. She tried last Christmas, but she could only get to places by rolling, so it was easy to head her off.

Nursery Already

I added a slideshow of pictures of Gwen's first birthday. I realized nobody has seen her birthday pictures, since I haven't even had them developed yet. We're really bad at getting our pictures developed. I haven't even had last Christmas' photos developed. I still have Gwen's birth on my camera still. That's mainly because I can't bring myself to delete them. Still, I need to get to Wal-Mart and spend about a 100 bucks to get all my pictures developed finally. I hope we'll be good when Phoebe's born and take as many pictures of her as we did Gwen. With Gwen, we took about ten poses of the same little scene every time we took her picture. We've stopped taking so many pictures already, which makes me worried that we'll forget to take pictures of the next baby. I'm sure that won't happen. My kids are meant to be in pictures. Gwen is such a little ham, honestly. She takes my camera now and tries to take pictures of herself, saying "Chee! Chee!" It's really hard to take a candid shot of her. Once she sees that camera, she stops whatever cute thing she's doing and runs to the camera, "Chee! Chee!" That's probably why we don't take as many pictures.

Gwen is 16 months, but she's going to be starting nursery this Sunday. I teach primary and Logan teaches the family history class, so we've been given permission to start Gwen in nursery early. I'm so scared! She's too young for nursery! She still puts everything in her mouth, and she doesn't know how to share toys. Honestly, I think she's too agressive. She's not shy at all, and she gets into every little kid's face, scaring the poor kid to death. We can't even stay with her for her first time, because we both have class to teach. I'm not looking forward to it at all. Logan says she'll be just fine, but I have my doubts. What if the kids are mean to her? I thought I would love to put Gwen in nursery early, but I've changed my mind. Isn't 16 months too young?

Just a little explanation

Okay, so I've been convinced to write. I had to change my site name and address, because it was "too boring" according to Logan. I'm a little hesitant to have Gwen's name in the title, because we'll be having another baby in February. Oh, well. Logan picked the name. Gwen is in love with Elmo. Everytime Elmo's World starts on Sesame Street, she starts dancing in circles and clapping her hands. I really need to sneak a video of this. Everytime she sees the camera, though, she stops whatever she's doing and says, "Chee!" My little ham.

It's late and my eyes hurt! I'll post more about us later. I need to get a hold of everyone I gave my blog address to and tell them it's been changed already.

Just Experimenting

So this is my first blog, obviously. I'm not sure how often I'll post to this, or if I'll ever come back to it. I just heard that family is blogging, so I thought I'd try it out. I just want to see how this looks on the actual blog and whatnot.

Go Suns!
